He heads there, but stops by a diner, where he meets Piper (Amber Heard), a waitress that is withholding sex from her boyfriend, Frank (Todd Farmer), so he will marry her. Milton's car is damaged, so he sabotages Piper's car and follows her to fix it in exchange for a ride to her home, which is on the way to Smithfalls.
There, Piper sees Frank having sex with another woman and they get into a fight, with Frank beating her up. Milton beats him up, knocks him out and steals the keys of his car, taking Piper along with him on a ride to Smithfalls. Meanwhile, a supernatural operative of Satan, The Accountant (William Fichtner) arrives at Earth with the mission to bring Milton back to Hell. After interrogating Frank, he discovers that Milton and Piper are heading to Louisiana and tricks the police into helping him by impersonating an FBI agent.
At a shady hotel, Milton and Piper are attacked by King and his men, who heard about his return, but manage to kill most of them. The Accountant appears with the police and chases after Milton and Piper, who are chasing after King's van. Milton uses a gun labled "The Godslayer" to shoot the Accountant out of the road. They then follow King to a church, which they enter, only to be ambushed by King and captured. Piper is kidnapped and Milton is left for dead, but awakens and kills King's men before pursuing his van once again. Inside, Piper breaks free and fights King before jumping out of the van and onto Milton's car. King then shoots them down and escapes.
Milton and Piper then meet Milton's friend Webster (David Morse), who provides them a new car. Piper discovers that Milton had to abandon his daughter to protect her from his former companions and that's why she was so easily manipulated by King. She also discovers that the Godslayer was stolen by Milton from Satan himself and has the power to completely destroy one's soul, preventing it from going to either Heaven or Hell. Meanwhile, the Accountant discovers that Milton is trying to save his granddaughter from being sacrificed and decides to help him, because, if there's one thing he hates more than souls that escape, is innocent souls sacrificed by madmen.
Milton tells Piper that he can't guarantee her safety and that she should leave, but she assures that she's with him until the end. They then set to Smithfalls, evading the troops of Sheriff Cap (Tom Atkins) with the help of the Accountant and finally arriving at Smithfalls, where Milton slaughters King's men before they can sacrifice the child.
King eventually shoots Milton and orders one of his servants to murder the child. However, the woman, who had been caring for the baby ever since King stole it, finds herself unable to carry out the deed, allowing Milton to grab the Godslayer and shoot King, destroying his soul. The Accountant appears and retrieves the baby, that is given by Milton to Piper. She and Webster promise to take care of the toddler as Milton dies in Piper's arms.
After both Piper and Webster have left, Milton meets with the Accountant and agrees to go back to Hell with him, but warns that, one day, he'll escape again. The Accountant claims that he looks forward to it, as hunting down Milton on Earth has been the most fun he has had in ages. They then drive off into the gates of Hell

Watchmen is a 2009 superhero film directed by Zack Snyder. Based on the 1986-1987 comic book limited series Watchmen by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons, the film adaptation stars Malin Åkerman, Billy Crudup, Matt Frewer, Matthew Goode, Carla Gugino, Jackie Earle Haley, Stephen McHattie, Laura Mennell, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Patrick Wilson. Set in an alternate-history 1985, Watchmen follows a group of former vigilantes as tensions heighten between the United States and the Soviet Union while an investigation of an apparent conspiracy against them uncovers something even more grandiose and sinister. The film began shooting in Vancouver in September 2007 and was released in both conventional and IMAX theaters on March 6, 2009.[3] As with his previous film 300, Snyder closely modeled his storyboards on the comic, but he chose not to shoot all of Watchmen using chroma key and opted for more sets.

Following the series' publication, the film adaptation was mired in development hell. Producer Lawrence Gordon began developing the project at 20th Century Fox and Warner Bros. with producer Joel Silver and director Terry Gilliam, the latter eventually deeming the complex novel unfilmable. During the 2000s, Gordon and Lloyd Levin collaborated with Universal Studios and Paramount Pictures to produce a script by David Hayter. Darren Aronofsky and Paul Greengrass were also attached to the project before it was canceled over budget disputes. The project returned to Warner Bros., where Snyder was hired to direct – Paramount remained as international distributor. Fox sued Warner Bros. for copyright violation arising from Gordon's failure to pay a buy-out in 1991, which enabled him to develop the film at the other studios. Fox and Warner Bros. settled this before the film's release with Fox receiving a portion of the gross.

A DVD based on elements of the Watchmen universe is planned for release; it will include an animated adaptation of the comic Tales of the Black Freighter within the story, starring Gerard Butler, and the documentary Under the Hood, detailing the older generation of superheroes from the film's back-story. An extended edition of the film, with Tales of the Black Freighter interspersed through the main storyline in a manner reminiscent of the comic, is also forthcoming.

Race to Witch Mountain is a re-imagining of the 1975 film Escape to Witch Mountain. Both versions of the film are based on the 1968 novel Escape to Witch Mountain by author Alexander Key. The film is directed by Andy Fickman and stars Dwayne Johnson, AnnaSophia Robb, Alexander Ludwig, and Carla Gugino.
Filming began in Los Angeles in March 2008. Race to Witch Mountain was released on March 13, 2009.
This is Dwayne Johnson's second Disney movie, the first one was the 2007 family comedy The Game Plan.

Plot

In the beginning of the movie, news of UFO sightings around the world appear.

Jack Bruno (Dwayne Johnson) is a cab driver in Las Vegas, who is picking up and dropping off passengers to the UFO convention at the Planet Hollywood Casino and Hotel. One of his passengers is Dr. Alex Friedman (Carla Gugino), a failed scientist who is giving speeches about legitimate scientific theories of UFOs and outer space.

The next day Bruno is approached by two large men telling him that Wolff would like to see him. After fighting them, Bruno drives off, later noticing two children, Sara (AnnaSophia Robb) and Seth (Alexander Ludwig) sitting in the back seat of the cab. They tell him they need to go to a certain destination and are willing to pay all they have ($15,000) to get there. They lead him to a run down house in the middle of nowhere. Meanwhile, Major Henry Burke (Ciaran Hinds) is searching for information on the two aliens that landed some days earlier.

When they arrive at the house, the children tell Bruno that they will be re-united with their relatives soon. Before leaving Bruno hears a crash coming from the house. He is startled to find them hiding behind a couch. Though grateful for his concern, the children tell him they must continue their journey without him, as they can trust no one. Nevertheless, Bruno decides to follow them, which leads him to the basement of the house. There the kids are pursued and attacked by a strange creature as they retrieve an object in a plant. They manage to escape this creature.

When leaving they are attacked by a "Siphon", a creature built to destroy a certain target—in this case the children. The Siphon pursues them until it causes a crash of his spaceship into a train, the creature survives, though wounded. The trio eventually find themselves in a small town, hiding. They explain to Bruno that they are aliens from an distant planet, who are sent to Earth by their parents because the government of their dying planet intends to attack and invade Earth so that their kind may live on there. They also explain that the object they obtained at the house contains the results of an experiment which their parents set up. The research from this experiment will save their planet without having to attack and invade Earth. However their planet's military prefer the idea of invading Earth and sent the Siphon assassin to stop them. They are next pursued by government agencies trying to retrieve the children for experiments.

They are joined by Dr. Friedman at the UFO Expo, who is familiar with outer space and travel. When the Siphon arrives, it prepares to attack but Sara uses her powers to knock him through a wall. At first the children are captured along with Bruno and Friedman. Nevertheless the two humans escape and come to rescue the kids. The Siphon causes a distraction by attacking the base. They manage to free the children and reach their ship. By running the Siphon over they can escape but the Siphon hangs on and gets on board. Bruno and Seth battle the Siphon in the lower sections of the ship, unmasking him in the fight. Finally Bruno defeats the evil alien by knocking him out of the ship's airlock, finally killing him. The kids drop Jack and Alex off and after a tearful goodbye, head back to their ship but give Bruno and Alex a device that will allow the kids to always find them. Meanwhile, Burke is punished for failing to stop Seth and Sara, as well as the assassin.

The last scene during the credits show Bruno and Dr. Friedman speaking at a UFO convention about their new successful book called "Race to Witch Mountain". The last scene shows them driving off in a car Bruno dreamed of getting honestly as he had mentioned to Friedman earlier—a Mustang similar to that driven by Steve McQueen in Bullitt. As they are about to leave, the device the kids gave Bruno before they left goes off indicating that they may be returning.

Watchmen is a 2009 superhero film directed by Zack Snyder. Based on the 1986-1987 comic book limited series Watchmen by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons, the film adaptation stars Malin Akerman, Billy Crudup, Matt Frewer, Matthew Goode, Carla Gugino, Jackie Earle Haley, Stephen McHattie, Laura Mennell, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Patrick Wilson. Set in an alternate-history 1985, Watchmen follows a group of former vigilantes as tensions heighten between the United States and the Soviet Union while an investigation of an apparent conspiracy against them uncovers something even more grandiose and sinister. The film began shooting in Vancouver in September 2007 and was released in both conventional and IMAX theaters on March 6, 2009.[2] As with his previous film 300, Snyder closely modeled his storyboards on the comic, but he chose not to shoot all of Watchmen using chroma key and opted for more sets.

Following the series' publication, the film adaptation was mired in development hell. Producer Lawrence Gordon began developing the project at 20th Century Fox and Warner Bros. with producer Joel Silver and director Terry Gilliam, the latter eventually deeming the complex novel unfilmable. During the 2000s, Gordon and Lloyd Levin collaborated with Universal Studios and Paramount Pictures to produce a script by David Hayter. Darren Aronofsky and Paul Greengrass were also attached to the project before it was canceled over budget disputes. The project returned to Warner Bros., where Snyder was hired to direct – Paramount remained as international distributor. Fox sued Warner Bros. for copyright violation arising from Gordon's failure to pay a buy-out in 1991, which enabled him to develop the film at the other studios. Fox and Warner Bros. settled this before the film's release with Fox receiving a portion of the gross.

A DVD based on elements of the Watchmen universe is planned for release; it will include an animated adaptation of the comic Tales of the Black Freighter within the story, starring Gerard Butler, and the documentary Under the Hood, detailing the older generation of superheroes from the film's back-story. An extended edition of the film, with Tales of the Black Freighter interspersed through the main storyline in a manner reminiscent of the comic, is also forthcoming.

Plot

Friday the 13th is a 2009 American horror film directed by Marcus Nispel, and written by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift. Beginning just at the moment where Pamela Voorhees is killed in front of her son Jason and then jumping ahead thirty years, Friday the 13th follows Clay Miller as he searches for his sister, Whitney, who was taken by Jason six-weeks prior. Along the way, Clay meets a girl named Jenna who assists him in his search. Jason soon arrives and begins killing everyone, but not before Clay is reunited with his sister andthe pair use Jason's love for his mother so they can defeat him.

Originally starting out as an origin story, the film ultimately became a re-imagining of the first four Friday the 13th films. Along with bringing the film back to its roots, Jason was designed as a leaner and faster killer, with a backstory that could provide a little sympathy forthe character but not enough that he would lose his menace. When released the film was met with primarily negative reviews, [5] but earned approximately $19 million opening night making it the largest opening day for the film series.[6] It currently sits as the second highest grossing film in the Friday the 13th franchise, in unadjusted dollars.

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans is the third installment in the Gothic Underworld film series, focusing primarily on the origins of some characters and the events leading to the Vampire-Lycan war.

Plot

Viktor, the ruthless king of the vampires, has captured werewolves and turned them into slaves that would toil for him and guard his vampire clan during the day. These lycans are less volatile than the original breed, which cannot revert back to human form. The first of these Lycans was Lucian, whom Viktor spared after killing his werewolf mother. As Lucian grows up at Viktor's home, he and Viktor's daughter Sonja are attracted to one another and secretly become lovers.

Viktor also has an agreement with the human population, which he protects from the wild werewolves in exchange for a tithe in silver and slaves (chosen to be turned into Lycans). As a human nobles and vampires meet guarded by Sonja, they are attacked by wild werewolves who kill the humans. Lucian, who has followed Sonja, chases off the attackers but is shot down by Viktor's men as by taking off his collar and changing into lycan form he has transgressed the laws of the coven. Viktor has Lucian whipped and imprisons him, later deciding to kill him. With the help of Sonja and Viktor's duplicitous attendant Tannis, Lucian however escapes, kills several vampires and begins to free the other lycans.

Viktor discovers the relationship between Sonja and Lucian and uses his daughter as bait to draw Lucian back to the vampire castle. Setting out to rescue her, Lucian is captured by the Death Dealers. Sonja opposes her father and discloses that she is pregnant with Lucian's child. Viktor overpowers her with a knife and the Vampire Council which consists of the 12 most powerful and influential Vampires of the aristocracy - including an internally struggling Viktor - sentence her to death. She is exposed to sunlight, while Lucian is forced to witness her death. When night falls, Lucian overpowers Viktor and as his escape attempt is stopped at the castle walls, Lucian summons the freed lycans and the wild werewolves, who attack the coven and overwhelm it after a fierce battle, killing all the defending vampires, and Death Dealers who would rather fight then flee, and also the Vampire Council members who are all killed along with their aides and lesser nobles and councillors while trying to flee the council chamber. Lucian and Viktor battle their way to the dungeons until Lucian knocks Viktor down a well. Sunlight traps Viktor in the darkness and Lucian forces his sword through Viktor's mouth. Lucian declares this victory as only the beginning of the war between the vampires and Lycans.

Tannis, whom Viktor had charged with safeguarding the elders, sails away with them in a boat. Viktor is also on board, entering into a hibernation chamber.

The film's opening and closing scenes show Selene as seen in the opening scene of the first Underworld, with the audio revealing that it was Viktor who murdered Selene's family rather than the Lycans and that she was spared because she resembled Sonja.

Bedtime Stories is a 2008 American family-fantasy-comedy film directed by Adam Shankman that stars Adam Sandler (his first appearance in a Disney film). Sandler's production company Happy Madison and Andrew Gunn's company Gunn Films have produced the film, and Walt Disney Pictures is distributing it.[1] It has been rated PG for some mild rude humor and mild language.

Plot

Skeeter Bronson (Adam Sandler), is a hotel handyman whose life is changed forever when the bedtime stories he tells his niece and nephew start to mysteriously come true. He attempts to take advantage of the phenomenon, incorporating his own aspirations into one outlandish tale after another, but it's the kids' unexpected contributions that turn Skeeter's life upside down.

* The first bedtime story causes gumballs to fall on to Skeeter, which is ironically just a truck that spilled its candy.

* The second story takes place in the west where a horse seller gives Skeeter a cherry red horse that is faster than any horse (the cherry red color is based on a ferrari). After riding away with his horse he comes across a young lady being heckled by townspeople. (Based on the daughter of the Nottingham hotel owner) Skeeter saves her and as his consolation she offers him money, instead of taking the money the kids suggest he take a kiss. As he goes in for the kiss, Patrick (the young boy) suddenly said for Skeeter to be kicked in the shins by an "angry dwarf". Back in real life, the parallels he meets someone who looks like the horse dealer in the story but as Skeeter is tricked, his wallet is stolen. Skeeter saves the daughter from paparazzi by splashing water over them. He then scares them away using his car's tailpipe's explosion to represent the sound of a gun. Lastly, as Skeeter goes in to kiss the hotel owners daughter he also gets kicked in the shins by a little man.

* After the Fourth story, Skeeter goes to his boss's birthday party to present his idea of the new hotel. Where he got stung by a bee on the tongue and he had to have a translator. So he then wins against a musical idea but gets fired when he puts out his boss's birthday cake with a fire extinguisher. Later he talks a property seller into closing down one property which is where a school is and Skeeter's sister is principal, and opening a another property behind a beach. Skeeter then uses a motorcycle to get to the school and stop the demolition. He also then marries Jill, a teacher and then builds a hotel with 2 people from the Nottingham hotels (one is the person that he was competing against and the other is a person who is like Skeeter´s enemy.)

Premise

Randy "The Ram" Robinson (Mickey Rourke) is a professional wrestler from the 1980s, twenty years past his prime, wrestling on the weekends in independent and semi-pro matches for extra money. He is forced to retire completely after a heart attack threatens to kill him the next time he wrestles. He takes a weekend shift at the deli counter at the grocery store where he already works on weekdays, attempts to form a relationship with an aging stripper (Marisa Tomei) and does his best to reconcile with his estranged daughter (Evan Rachel Wood). However, he is drawn to the prospect of a rematch with his old wrestling nemesis the Ayatollah (Ernest Miller), even though the fight may cost him his life.

Transporter 3 is a 2008 action film, and is the third installment in the Transporter film series, as well as the first not to be distributed by 20th Century Fox in the United States. Both Jason Statham and Francois Berleand reprised their roles, as Frank Martin and Tarconi, respectively. This is the first film in the series to be directed by Olivier Megaton. The film continues the story of Frank Martin, a professional "transporter" who has returned to France to continue his low-key business of delivering packages without questions.

Frank Martin (Jason Statham) has been pressured into transporting Valentina (Natalya Rudakova), the kidnapped daughter of Leonid Vasilev (Jeroen Krabbe), through the use of a device attached to his wrist which will explode if Frank goes more than 75 feet from his car. Vasilev is the head of the Environmental Protection Agency for Ukraine. He must travel from Marseilles through Stuttgart and Budapest until he ends up in Odessa on the Black Sea. With the help of Inspector Tarconi (Francois Berleand), Frank must contend with the people who strong-armed him into taking the job, agents sent by Vasilev to intercept him, and the general non-cooperation of his passenger. Despite Valentina's cynical disposition and Frank's resistance to get involved, Frank and Valentina fall for each other, while escaping from one life-threatening situation after another. Statham again drives an armored Audi A8 W12 in the film.

Quantum of Solace (2008) is the 22nd James Bond film by EON Productions, released in the United Kingdom on 31 October 2008 and due in North America on 14 November. The direct sequel to the 2006 film Casino Royale, it is directed by Marc Forster, and features Daniel Craig's second performance as James Bond. In the film, Bond battles Dominic Greene (Mathieu Amalric), a member of the Quantum organisation posing as an environmentalist, who intends to stage a coup d'état in Bolivia to take control of its water supply. Bond seeks revenge for the death of Vesper Lynd, and is assisted by Camille Montes (Olga Kurylenko).

Producer Michael G. Wilson created the film's plot while Casino Royale was shooting. Neal Purvis, Robert Wade, Paul Haggis and Joshua Zetumer contributed to the script. The title was chosen from a 1960 short story in Ian Fleming's For Your Eyes Only, though the film does not contain any elements of the original story. Location filming took place in Panama, Chile, Italy and Austria, while interior sets were built and filmed at Pinewood Studios. Forster aimed to make a modern film that also featured classic cinema motifs: an antique aeroplane was used for a dogfight sequence, and Dennis Gassner's set designs are reminiscent of Ken Adam's work on several early Bond films. Taking a course away from the usual Bond villains, Forster rejected any grotesque appearance for the character Dominic Greene to emphasize the hidden and secret nature of the film's (and society's) modern day corporate villains.

Death Race is an action film written and directed by Paul W. S. Anderson. The film is a remake of the 1975 film Death Race 2000, based on Ib Melchior's short story "The Racer", and stars Jason Statham in the lead role. The remake had been in development since 2002, though production was delayed by disapproval of early screenplays then placed in turnaround following a dispute between Paramount Pictures and the producer duo Tom Cruise and Paula Wagner. Death Race was acquired by Universal Studios, and Anderson re-joined the project to write and direct. Filming began in Montreal in August 2007, and the completed project was released on August 22, 2008.

Plot

In a future United States of America, prison inmates compete against each other in a driving arena. The film begins by showing a race near its end between two cars, a Dodge Ram and a Ford Mustang, both loaded with various guns and armor. The driver of the Mustang is a famous masked driver known as Frankenstein, who is accompanied by a female navigator. The driver of the Dodge Ram, Machine Gun Joe (Tyrese Gibson) fires various weapons at Frankenstein's car, damaging it horribly, and Frankenstein's defense weapons fail for unexplained reasons. As a last resort, Frankenstein drops his car's rear armor plate (nicknamed "The Tombstone") and succeeds in brutally damaging the Dodge Ram. However, Frankenstein's fuel tank is exposed as a result, and Joe capitalizes, firing off a missile to the exposed fuel tank. Frankenstein tells his navigator to eject herself, but he continues on as the fuel tank explodes, propelling his flaming car upside down across the finish line, presumably leaving Frankenstein critically wounded, or dead.

At this point, title cards explain that within three years from 2008 the economy of the United States has fallen into disaster, and private corporations run most prisons across the nation for profit. The movie focuses on the Terminal Island Prison, where arena cage fights between prisoners fighting to the death are broadcast to the world via internet. After crowds became bored with the fighting, the prison adopted a new event for the entire world to see: Death Race, a race where cars armed with various weapons and armour would try to win, but survive each other while doing it. Jensen Ames (Jason Statham) works at a steel mill that closes due to bankruptcy, but things get worse when he returns home to tell his wife. She's fine with it, but as Ames goes to check on their baby, his wife comes face to face with an intruder. Ames returns to see his wife on the floor dead and is knocked out by the intruder, awakening later with a bloody knife in his hand and his wife's body next to him, with the police standing above him, framing him for her murder. Ames is sent to prison where he is coerced by the prison warden, Hennessey (Joan Allen) to become the new driver of the Ford Mustang. She tells Ames that she knows of his baby that was left in foster care, and that prisoners are freed upon winning five Death Races, but since he will take on the mask of the legendary Frankenstein (who had 4 wins at the time of his death), he will only need to win one race. The races are broken apart into three stages: Stage 1 and 2 are races in which the driver must survive, and Stage 3 you must win the race in order for it to add to the count towards freedom.

During the Stage 1 Race, Ames is introduced to his navigator, Case (Natalie Martinez), who happens to be Frankenstein's previous navigator, and later in the race recognizes another driver, Pachenko, using the same exact hand gesture the intruder had made upon completing the framing, thus giving Ames a flashback and the realization to a very promising suspect to his wifes murder. Three drivers are killed during Stage 1 including Grimm and Travis Colt. Ames finishes last after taking a hard hit from Machine Gun Joe. Ames learns he is part of a plot to keep the legend of Frankenstein alive, solely for the personal profit of Hennessey. He confronts Hennessey about the driver, but instead she shows him pictures of his baby living with foster parents, asking him if he thinks he could provide for his baby better than the foster parents. Angered, he takes one of the pictures and leaves. The night before Stage 2 he makes a trip to the garage of Pachenko's team to confront him. He is beaten down by a few members of the team but is helped by a member of his garage allowing Ames to retaliate and nearly kill Pachenko. His revenge is thwarted by the prison guards telling them to save it for the race. Ames goes into the Stage 2 race and immediately questions Case on her intentions. She tells him she was ordered to sabotage Frankenstein's defense weapons so he would not win his freedom, and thereby earn her own. Ames realizes he is not meant to survive the Death Race at all, but is meant to die so another "Frankenstein" can be brought into the prison to keep viewers paying to see the races. He seeks revenge during Stage 2 by crippling and rolling Pachenko's car allowing him to turn around drive back and to get revenge up close and personal by snapping Pachenko's neck as he crawls away from the car wreck. Three drivers remain until 14K is killed by 'The Dreadnought', Hennessy's secret weapon (an 18 wheeler filled with massive machine guns) that had been in production for months. Ames and Machine Gun Joe are able to destroy The Dreadnought then finish Stage 2. Then Ames sets his sights on Hennessey. Realizing that Ames knows what's going on, Hennessey has Ames' car armed with an explosive before the Stage 3 Race as insurance to make sure he does not cross the finish line alive. However, Ames devises his own scheme from an image shown by one of his crew members of a destroyed billboard in an earlier race.

The Stage 3 Race begins with only two drivers remaining: "Frankenstein" and Machine Gun Joe. Before the race, Ames adds an extra half-gallon fuel tank to his car, and tells Joe that he and Frankenstein should talk. The race begins, and Ames soon takes the lead. However, the odds are against Ames as Hennessey rigs the track to benefit Joe. Throughout the entire lap, Joe keeps hot on Ames' tail, and as they near the beginning of the second lap, and the Tombstone starts to give out, Ames' orders Case to release it, in an effort to make Joe back off. Unlike last time though, Joe expects it, and easily avoids the oncoming Tombstone. Now that Ames' fuel tank is exposed, Joe preps newly added missiles and fires in Ames' direction. However, they seem to miss the car and instead hit the billboard at the first turn of the track. It is shown that the image Ames saw was a pathway to the bridge leading off the island to the mainland behind the destroyed billboard.

It turns out that Ames and Joe had plotted their escape from the beginning of Stage 3, as they drive out onto the bridge to escape the island. However, Hennessey mobilizes helicopters and police cruisers to apprehend them. As the cruisers close in on the two cars, Ames releases his exposed fuel tank, causing it to explode and stop the pursuing cars. Turning to her back up plan, Hennessey then orders that the explosive under Ames' car be set off, but nothing happens because Coach (Ames' crew member) had found, removed, and deactivated the bomb prior to the start of the race. Escaping past the bridge, Joe and Ames separate, and Hennessey orders the helicopters to focus on Ames, but he switches seats with Case when she tells him that Hennessey had already signed her release papers for her work, and that she owed one to the old Frankenstein. He jumps from the car leading the helicopters to believe he is still inside. Joe meets up with Ames and they board a train to escape, lamenting on Hennessey's continued existence. Soon, Ames' Mustang is stopped and "Frankenstein" is apprehended.

Later, it is shown that Hennessey believes she still won after all, as a guard notifies her about presents sent to her for the record number of viewers subscribing to the Death Race. However, the explosive that was put on the Frankenstein car is found inside, and blows up as Coach is seen setting off the detonator and giving the quote "I love this game". Six months later, Ames and Joe are shown working in a junkyard in Mexico, when Case unexpectedly arrives. The two men and her are happy to see each other, and Ames shows her his baby. The movie closes with Ames explaining that even though he knows he's far from being the best parent in the world, no one could love his baby more than he could.

Iron Man is a fictional character that appears in comic books published by Marvel Comics. Born Anthony Edward "Tony" Stark, he suffers a severe heart injury during a kidnapping and is forced to build a destructive weapon. He instead creates a power suit to save his life and help protect the world as the superhero Iron Man.[1] He is a wealthy industrialist and genius inventor who created military weapons and whose metal suit is laden with technological devices that enable him to fight crime.

The character first appeared in Tales of Suspense #39 (March 1963), and was created by writer-editor Stan Lee, scripter Larry Lieber, and artists Don Heck and Jack Kirby. Initially, Iron Man was a vehicle for Stan Lee to explore Cold War themes, particularly the role of American technology and business in the fight against communism. Subsequent re-imaginings of Iron Man have gradually removed the Cold War themes, replacing them with more contemporary concerns such as corporate crime and terrorism.

Throughout most of the comics history, Iron Man has been a member of the superhero team the Avengers and has been featured in several incarnations of his own various comic book series. The character has been adapted for several animated TV shows, as well as for the 2008 live action film Iron Man.

Plot

On New York's Liberty Island a massive fireball crash lands, with a man emerging unscathed. He's Dave, a human-shaped spaceship controlled by 100 aliens, each one an inch tall. Its captain (also played by Murphy) pilots the Dave Spaceship along with his crew from inside its head. The aliens are seeking a way to save their planet, Nil, from an energy crisis by draining the Earth's Oceans for salt. However, complications arise when the Captain falls in love with single mother Gina Morrison (Elizabeth Banks).[2] More complications arise when the police begin tracking Dave from the crash site. While the Captain struggles to keep their identity hidden, his best friend, Commander Number 3 (Gabrielle Union) is secretly in love with him and becomes jealous of Gina. Now he must choose between Gina or his true love within Number 3.

Soundtrack

The score to Meet Dave was composed by Oscar-nominated composer John Debney. He recorded his score with the Hollywood Studio Symphony at the Newman Scoring Stage in February 2008.

Reception

As of July 31, 2008, the film garnered mostly negative reviews, with only 21% of critics on Rotten Tomatoes giving positive reviews.[5]

Meet Dave opened on July 11, 2008 in 3,011 theaters in the United States and Canada and grossed an estimated $5,300,000, ranking seventh at the box office.[6] 20th Century Fox distribution executive Bert Livingston said of the box office bomb that cost $55 million to make, "It was a tough concept to get across. It's upsetting for all of us and for Eddie. He's very funny in this. Just not enough people came."[1]

Also, in its 3rd weekend, it broke the record for the biggest theater drops in wide release, which lost 2,523 theaters from its 3,011 theaters the week before.

Po (Jack Black) is a panda who works in a noodle restaurant owned by his goose father Mr. Ping (James Hong). Po is a kung fu fanatic with secret dreams of becoming a great master in the discipline. However, his weight and clumsiness seem to make his goal unattainable; Mr. Ping hopes instead that Po will one day take over the restaurant, and waits for the perfect opportunity to disclose the secret ingredient to his family's noodle recipe.

The tortoise Master Oogway (Randall Duk Kim) has a premonition that the evil snow leopard warrior Tai Lung (Ian McShane), the former student of his own protégé, the red panda Master Shifu (Dustin Hoffman), will escape from prison and return to threaten the Valley of Peace. While Shifu sends Zeng (Dan Fogler), a messenger goose, to Chor Ghom Prison to have the security increased, Oogway orders a formal ceremony to choose the mighty Dragon Warrior who can defeat Tai Lung. Everyone assumes that one of the Furious Five — Tigress (Angelina Jolie), Monkey (Jackie Chan), Mantis (Seth Rogen), Viper (Lucy Liu), and Crane (David Cross) — a quintet of supremely skilled martial artists trained by Shifu,[5] will be chosen for this honor.

While the Five demonstrate their skills at the ceremony, Po arrives too late and finds himself locked outside the walled palace square. As a last-ditch attempt to get in, he ties several fireworks to a chair and ignites them, which sends him crashing into the center of the arena. Inspired by this sudden appearance, Oogway designates Po the Dragon Warrior. Despite Po's protests and Shifu's pleas to reconsider, Oogway stands by his decision.

Revolted at having Po under his tutelage, Shifu attempts to make him quit by berating and humiliating him. The Five similarly dismiss Po as a worthless interloper. Although he becomes aware of Shifu's true intentions and is deeply hurt by his heroes' disdain for him, Po endures their abuse willingly for the dream to become something more than the failure he thinks he is. Master Oogway, still certain that Po is the right choice, gives him sage advice to believe in himself. Eventually, Po endears himself to the Five (except for Tigress) with his tenacity, good cooking, and sense of humor. At this time Tigress reveals to Po how Tai Lung came to be so evil. Shifu raised him from a cub and treated him like a son. When Oogway refused to make Tai Lung the Dragon Warrior, he became enraged and laid waste to the Valley. He then tried to take the dragon scroll. Shifu tried to stop him, but could not bear to destroy what he had created. Tai Lung was defeated by Master Oogway and imprisoned. Tigress ends her story by saying that Shifu loved Tai Lung like he never had before, or since.

Meanwhile, Zeng's errand backfires when a tour of the prison given to him by the overly confident head of security, Commander Vachir (Michael Clarke Duncan), inadvertently enables Tai Lung to escape. Tai Lung orders Zeng to send word of his arrival to Shifu. In the Valley of Peace, Oogway passes away and ascends to the heavens, leaving his final wish that Shifu train Po. However, upon learning of Tai Lung's return, and realizing that he has to face the evil warrior, Po attempts to flee. Shifu stops the panda and promises to train him if he is truly destined to be the Dragon Warrior. When Po confesses his belief that he may never be a match for Tai Lung, Shifu is at a loss for a solution. Overhearing this argument, Tigress takes it upon herself to intercept Tai Lung, and the rest of The Five follow her to assist. The following morning, Shifu discovers that Po is capable of impressive physical feats when motivated by food. He leads Po to the countryside for an intensive training regime in which Po is offered food as a reward for learning his lessons. As Shifu hopes, Po swiftly becomes a skilled combatant.

The Five battle Tai Lung but are eventually defeated with a specialized nerve-striking technique, and they retreat to the valley. When they return, Shifu decides Po is ready to face the villain and gives him the sacred Dragon Scroll, which promises great power to the possessor. When Po opens it, he finds nothing but a blank reflective surface. Stricken with despair at the scroll's apparent worthlessness, Shifu orders his students to lead the villagers to safety while he stays to delay Tai Lung for as long as he can.

As Po participates in the evacuation, he meets his father, who tries to cheer him up by telling him the secret ingredient of the family's noodle soup: nothing. Things become special, he explains, because people believe them to be special. Realizing that is the very point of the Dragon Scroll, Po rushes off to help Shifu. At this time, Tai Lung arrives at the palace. He blames Shifu for not granting him the title of Dragon Warrior just because Master Oogway did not choose him, and the two begin to fight. For his part, Shifu is crippled by his profound feelings of guilt and responsibility for his former protégé, whom he loved and raised like a son, turning to darkness.

When Tai Lung discovers that the Dragon Scroll is gone, he attempts to kill Shifu in anger. But before he can, Po finally arrives and challenges him. Although Tai Lung scoffs at Po's abilities, the ensuing fight proves Po to be a formidable opponent. Despite Po's skill, Tai Lung temporarily stuns him and gains the Dragon Scroll, but is unable to understand its symbolism. Po tries to explain the wisdom of the scroll to Tai Lung, but the frustrated leopard tries to subdue Po with his nerve strikes. The attack proves useless on the panda, as his nerves are difficult to find due to his body fat. Emboldened, Po counter-attacks with an improvised combat style that takes advantage of his girth to absorb and deflect the force from Tai Lung's attacks back at him. In the end, Po uses the Wuxi Finger Hold on Tai Lung (a technique Shifu had previously threatened to use on Po), defeating him in a large explosion of golden light that ripples through the valley.

The Five return to the valley to investigate and find a slightly dazed but triumphant Po. Deeply impressed by Po's victory, Tigress leads the Five to acknowledge him as a Kung Fu master. Po suddenly remembers that his teacher is badly wounded, and rushes back to Shifu. At first the master appears to be dying, and Po panics. But it turns out that he is only resting after such a terrible battle with Tai Lung.

At the end of the credits, Shifu and Po are seen eating together by the sacred peach tree. A peach seed planted by Shifu before Oogway's passing has sprouted into a new plant.

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor[3] is a 2008 American adventure film that follows The Mummy and The Mummy Returns. It was released on August 1, 2008 in the US.

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor is directed by Rob Cohen and written by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar. Bob Ducsay, Sean Daniel, Stephen Sommers and James Jacks produce the film.

The emperor on which this fictitious account was based was Qin Shi Huang and not the first Emperor of the Han Dynasty, Emperor Gaozu of Han.

Plot

The film begins with a narration about the rise to power of Emperor JIN, the Dragon Emperor. He conquered all his enemies, many of whom were buried under the Great Wall of China, and mastered the five elements, but could not conquer death. To that end, he sought the help of Zi Yuan, who knew where to find the secret of immortality. Han declares to his first in command, General Ming, that no one is to touch her; however, the two fell in love during their search. After Zi Yuan supposedly casts the immortality spell on Han, he ushers Zi Yuan to the balcony to watch as General Ming is pulled apart by horses. He then stabs Zi Yuan. She reveals that she has in fact cursed the Emperor and his army, turning them into stone statues, and manages to escape.

The film jumps ahead to 1946. Explorer Rick O'Connell, his wife Evelyn, and brother-in-law Jonathan are now retired. Their son Alex has dropped out of school and become an adventurer like his parents. With the financial backing of Roger Wilson, Alex locates the tomb of the Dragon Emperor's tomb. Though he is attacked by a mysterious woman, he avoids harm and successfully brings the Emperor back to Shanghai. In the meantime, the British government entrusts the elder O'Connells to take the Eye of Shangri-La back to China as a good faith gesture from the British to the Chinese. All the O'Connells arrive at Imhotep, a night club in Shanghai owned by Jonathan. Alex gives his parents a tour of the exhibit, where it is revealed that Roger Wilson is in league with a paramilitary group led by General Yang and his second in command Choi. Using the Eye of Shangri-La, which contains water from Shangri-La, they are able to resurrect the Emperor. The mysterious woman from the excavation site tries to kill the Emperor with a dagger cursed by Zi Yuan, but he manages to escape.

The mysterious woman reveals herself to be Lin, a protector of the Dragon Emperor's tomb. She explains that the path to Shangri-La can be revealed using the Eye. The O'Connells, Jonathan, and Lin trek through the Himalayas with the help of Rick's pilot friend Mad Dog Maguire and reach the tower that will reveal the path to Shangri-La when the Eye is placed on top of it. General Yang, his soldiers, and the Emperor arrive shortly after. Lin summons a trio of yeti to assist in the battle, but the Emperor ultimately succeeds in placing the Eye atop the golden tower. Rick is stabbed by the Dragon Emperor's sword while protecting Alex. Alex triggers an avalanche, which buys them time to reach Shangri-La first.

They reach Shangri-La first and Rick is healed by Zi Yuan, who was rescued by the yeti after cursing the Emperor. She is revealed to be Lin's mother, General Ming having fathered her shortly before his death. Using the water, they have become immortal and have guarded the secrets of the Emperor for over 2,000 years. The Emperor arrives and is able to bathe in the pool, restoring his physical form and giving him shape-shifting abilities. He takes the form of a three-headed dragon, kidnaps Lin, and flies to his Terracotta Army at the excavation site.

The Emperor summons his army, which will become invincible should it cross the Great Wall. To buy time, Zi Yuan sacrifices her immortality and that of her daughter to revive those buried beneath the Great Wall. Led by General Ming, the undead army and the Terracotta fight. A massive battle ensues, during which Zi Yuan and the Emperor fight one-on-one. The Emperor wins, but she manages to steal back the cursed dagger. Alex saves Lin and they find Zi Yuan dying soon after. She gives Lin the dagger and tells her to stab the Emperor through the heart. While Rick and Alex head off to fight the Emperor, Evelyn and Lin fight and kill General Yang and Choi. Rick and Alex find themselves outmatched against the shape-shifting Emperor, and the dagger is broken during the confrontation. Rick goads the Emperor into fighting fair, and manages to plunge the dagger hilt his heart. Alex in turn stabs him in the back, fusing the dagger within the Emperor's heart. The Emperor dies a dramatic death in flame.

Back at Imhoteps, Mad Dog is the new owner and the now-mortal Lin is dancing with Alex. Rick and Evelyn are dancing as well. Jonathan decides to move to Peru with the Eye of Shangri-La, a place he claims has no mummies. After he leaves, a caption appears on the screen stating that a few weeks later there were mummies discovered in Peru.

Plot

Six years after the events of The X-Files series finale, a young woman is abducted at her rural home in (fictional) Somerset, West Virginia, while a flash-forward shows a line of FBI investigators following a long-haired, bespectacled man in a snowy field, where they uncover a buried human arm. Former FBI agent Doctor Dana Scully is now a staff physician at Our Lady of Sorrows, a Catholic hospital, and treating a boy named Christian who has a terminal brain condition. FBI agent Mosley Drummy arrives to ask Scully's help in locating Fox Mulder, the fugitive former head of the X-Files division, and says they will call off its manhunt for him if he will help investigate the disappearances of several women, including the woman we've seen abducted: young FBI agent Monica Banan. Scully agrees and convinces Mulder — who is living in a nearby small home, bearded and clipping newspaper articles about the paranormal — to help. Mulder believes this is an FBI trick to capture him, but Scully points out the FBI could have done this long ago and has found it simpler to ignore him.

A black helicopter takes the duo to Washington, D.C., where Assistant Special Agent in Charge (ASAC) Dakota Whitney has read Mulder's files and wants his expertise with the paranormal. The long-haired man in the snow who had successfully led them to a clue is a pedophile former priest named Father Joseph Fitzpatrick Crissman (Billy Connolly), who claims God is sending him visions of the crimes. Mulder wants to believe the man, but Scully is disgusted by Crissman's past and disregards his "visions".

The Incredible Hulk is a 2008 superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character the Hulk released on June 13, 2008. Leterrier's direction aimed to make the monsters look more realistic and frightening. He redesigned Blonsky's monstrous gamma-irradiated form — called the Abomination in the comics — from a reptilian humanoid into a mutated man with bony protrusions. Filming mostly took place in Toronto, Canada in 2007, where the production attempted to be environmentally friendly.
